If a city room does free up, this is how the districts compare. Set an alert and check them periodically; just do not leave yourself without a booking while you wait.

1. City Center (Best, If You Can Get It)

The strongest location by some distance, and correspondingly the first thing to have sold out. You are within walking distance of local restaurants, central pedestrian thoroughfares (Bogoridi and Aleksandrovska streets), train/bus terminals, and the host city’s official fan zone (Eurovision Village). Arena Burgas in Izgrev is close enough that getting back is a quick walk or short ride.

2. Sea Garden Waterfront

The scenic corridor bordering Burgas's famous 5 km coastal park. It offers a quieter vibe at night, beautiful Black Sea views, and a pleasant stroll into the city center. It sits slightly further from main transit hubs, which primarily matters on your arrival and departure days.

3. Sarafovo District

Situated roughly 10 km northeast near Burgas Airport (BOJ). This location makes sense if you have an early departure flight or a rental car. Otherwise, you will spend much of your trip commuting back and forth to central festival activities.

4. Meden Rudnik District

A large residential district located southwest of the center. This is where budget listings and local rental apartments concentrate. It is a practical option if you have a rental vehicle or budget for night taxis.

🏖️ The Coastal Towns: Your Realistic Base

This is where most visitors will actually sleep, so treat it as the main section rather than the fallback. The resort strip north and south of Burgas holds many times the city's bed capacity, and the EBU's own host-city material points arriving fans to Pomorie, Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas.

Crucial Caveats for Coastal Stays:

• Mid-May Season Openings: Mid-May is slightly ahead of the peak summer resort opening. A portion of resort hotels, seasonal restaurants, and beach bars in Sunny Beach may not open until late May or June.
• Nighttime Transit Limits: Scheduled regional buses do not run at 02:30. Pre-book a private transfer or split a group taxi for every show night — and book it early, because everyone staying up the coast needs the same thing at the same moment.

Pomorie stands out as the best alternative base. It is the closest of the overflow towns, and — unlike the pure resorts — it is a year-round working town, so its restaurants, shops and services are properly open in mid-May rather than half-shuttered.

ℹ️ The "Eurotown" is not for you. Burgas plans a temporary Eurotown near the arena, but it is accommodation for delegations, press and organising teams, not a fan campsite. Do not factor it into your search.

🚗 Car Rentals & Parking Considerations

Renting a car solves the late-night transfer problem and creates a parking one. A car is most useful if you are staying in Meden Rudnik, Sarafovo, or a coastal town like Pomorie, and close to pointless if you have a room in the walkable city centre.

Burgas Paid Parking Zones

Central Burgas runs two paid zones. Both cost €1 (1.96 lv) per hour, VAT included — the same rate, but with different hours, which is the part that catches people out.

How to pay: ticket machines (Presto600) or SMS self-charging in both zones. The blue zone additionally accepts the PayPark and Urbo Parking apps; the green zone does not.

If you don't pay: a wheel clamp, or your car is towed. Neither is a fine you settle later at your convenience.

What This Means During Contest Week

Contest week falls inside the green zone's summer schedule, which changes the picture in a way that is worth knowing:

• Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 May are working days. Blue zone charges until 19:00, green until 20:00.
• Saturday 15 May — Grand Final day — the blue zone is free all day, because it only operates on working days. The green zone still charges 11:00–20:00.
• Doors at the arena are around 20:00 for a 22:00 show. By the time you set off, both zones have stopped charging for the night — so the parking cost of a show evening is lower than you would expect, and the overnight period is free everywhere.

The catch is the other direction: if you drive in for a full day in the centre before a show, you are paying from late morning until the evening.
