Sunny Beach
Sunny Beach is the largest resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, in Nesebar Municipality, Burgas Province, between Sveti Vlas to the north and the old town of Nessebar to the south. It is not a town but a resort complex, of national importance since 2005. Planning began in 1957 and building in 1958. The beach
The beach is 6.1 km long, with fine yellow sand and an average width of about 60 m. The sea stays shallow a long way out, which is why families with small children choose it. The natural dunes behind the beach are protected and hold 16 rare plant species.
The resort
About 117 hotels with 42,343 beds (2020). Action Aquapark has more than 30 water attractions. From 1965 to 1999 the resort hosted the Golden Orpheus festival of popular song.
