In the heart of the majestic Rila Mountain, just a stone's throw from its highest peak, Musala, rises the imposing Irechek Peak. Standing at 2852 meters, it is the third highest peak in Bulgaria and a crucial part of the Musala group. Although administratively part of Samokov Municipality, access to it is extremely popular for tourists from Sofia who seek challenge and unparalleled panoramic views. Irechek Peak offers one of the most impressive high-mountain experiences in the Sofia region, even though it lies just outside its administrative borders.
