Bozhia Most (God's Bridge), also known as Zhabokrek, is a natural rock bridge in the Chiren–Lilyache karst area, about 15 km north of Vratsa. It is about 20 m high and 25 m wide, and the tunnel under it is about 100 m long. How to get there, where to park and how long to allow are covered in our guides below.
Despite the name, God's Bridge is made up of two rock bridges. They are the remains of a cave that today lies almost open. Around 120 million years ago the Lilyashka river, a small right tributary of the Botunya, ran underground. Erosion broke through the cave roof in several places, and over time the cave turned into a river valley. Only parts of the vault and walls remain.
The bridge is cut in Cretaceous limestone. The vault and walls are sandy organic limestone holding fossils of Lower Cretaceous sea life: orbitolines, clams, snails, sea urchins, brachiopods and ammonites. Look for them on the walls under the arch.
In the dry months the stream under the bridge dries up, leaving a few pools full of frogs. That is where the place's other name, "frog croak", comes from.
God's Bridge was declared a natural landmark on 5 February 1964. In 2008 it was assessed as a geosite of continental importance. The remains of a Roman-era fort lie nearby at Borovanska Mogila.

Caves can be visited year-round — the temperature inside stays roughly 10–12°C regardless of season. Spring and autumn are quieter than peak summer. Bring a warm layer and sturdy footwear; some caves close in winter when access roads become impassable.
