Spanopolski Chukar (2,575 m) is a granite peak in northern Pirin, at the northern end of the Spanopolski ridge; bg.wikipedia gives 2,576 m.
The Spanopolski ridge leaves the main ridge at the easternmost points of the rocky Karaulite crest and divides the grassy cirques of Golyamo and Malko Spano Pole. The peak's western and south-western slopes are sheer and rocky, with one of the highest lakes of Golyamo Spano Pole below them. From Malko Spano Pole the peak looks insignificant, with gentle grassy slopes.
The peak rises above the Spano Pole shelter (2,055 m), below Bashliyski Chukar. Waymarked paths lead to the shelter: about 3.5 hours from Yane Sandanski hut, about 3 hours from Vihren hut and about 3 hours from the Tevno Ezero shelter. The gentle grassy summit looks over Spano Pole, Vihren, Sinanitsa, Banderishki and Bashliyski Chukar.
Yane Sandanski hut is at Popina Laka, reached by an 18 km asphalt road from Sandanski. Vihren hut is reached by the road from Bansko.
