Sexaginta Prista — "Sixty Ships" in Latin — was a Roman fortress and naval base founded in the 1st century AD on the Danube frontier, on the site of today's Ruse. Its excavated remains sit on the riverbank in the city center and preserve walls, towers and gates from the Roman and later medieval periods.
