Shumkova mogila (1,277 m) is a peak in the Plana mountain, southeast of Vitosha. It rises above the village of Alino, Samokov municipality. Descriptions of Plana place it at the end of the ridge that runs from the Yarema saddle over Skalata, Strelyanska mogila and Glaveva mogila to Krasto and Shumkova mogila.
Krasto (1,307 m) is about a kilometre to the north. About 1.1 km southeast is the Alino monastery of St Spas, some 4 km north of Alino. Kaleto and Yovchina mogila are also nearby.
Plana is not one of the busier mountains, but it can be reached from every village at its foot and has many easy unmarked paths. We found no dedicated route to this summit in the sources.

Late spring through early autumn (May–September) is best for Shumkova mogila, when trails are clear of snow and weather is most stable. Higher peaks may hold snow into June and see fresh snow as early as October. Winter visits are for experienced mountaineers with proper gear.
