Malak Kom (1,958 m) is the easternmost of the three peaks of the Kom ridge in the Berkovitsa mountain, Western Balkan, south of Berkovitsa. With Sreden Kom (1,944 m) and Kom (2,016 m) it forms a west–east ridge with a rounded grassy crest, a steep stony north face and a gentle grassy south slope.

The huts

The Kom huts stand on the northern slope of Malak Kom: the old one about 1.1 km north of the summit, the new one (Kom-nova) about 1.9 km. An asphalt road of about 15 km leads to them from Berkovitsa.

Access

A path with pole waymarks leads from hut Kom to Kom peak in about 2 hours. It crosses the saddle between Malak and Sreden Kom and continues west along the crest. The Kom – Emine route starts at Kom.
