The route leads from Bankya to Lyulin hut in the western part of the Lyulin mountain. It is marked in red, the path is about 5.5 km, and the climb takes about 2 hours.
Lyulin hut has not operated since before 2000 and lay abandoned for a long time. Restoration began in 2023. Do not count on food, water or shelter, and carry everything for the day.
Bankya is a spa town and a district of Sofia, about 15 km west of the centre at the foot of Lyulin. It is served by city buses.
The hut stands in the Tsarnelsko Razkraske area, in Pernik municipality, near Bankya's Mihaylovo quarter. The Pernik tourist society "Krakra Pernishki" built it in 1962. An asphalt road also runs to it from the village of Lyulin.
The path runs through forest and is easy to moderate. It suits children and makes a short trip from Sofia. In summer the forest is cooler than the city.
