Tyulenovata Cave is a sea cave in the cliffs about 1 km north-east of the village of Tyulenovo, Shabla municipality. The caving register gives it 46 m in length: horizontal, branching, with two entrances from the sea. It was once a den and breeding site of the monk seal.
Yes, but only from the water. The cave lies in a Natura 2000 site with free access, but there is no path, guard or fee. You enter by kayak, SUP or boat, and only in a calm sea; with waves it is dangerous.
Tyulenovo is on the coast between Shabla and Kamen Bryag. You set off from the village by water along the 30-metre cliffs. Park in the village; sources do not name a car park.
A single branching level, flooded by the sea. Legend says a pair of seals released here by Queen Marie of Romania in the 1930s lived in the caves by the village. Today the monk seal has all but vanished from the Bulgarian coast.
