Mount Persenk (2,075 m) is one of the most prominent and scenic peaks in the Central Rhodopes. Located near the famous "Wonderful Bridges" natural phenomenon, it offers hikers a perfect mix of dense coniferous forests, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking vistas that stretch across the vast mountain ranges of southern Bulgaria.
The trail begins at the Skalni Mostove (Rock Bridges) Hut at 1,625 meters altitude.
The hike covers approximately 3.6 km with a total elevation gain of over 450 meters. It usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit.
The route is less crowded, making it a peaceful weekend getaway. Hikers can observe a rich variety of trees, including pine, fir, and beech, as well as wildlife like falcons, golden eagles, squirrels, and even wild boars or martens.
