Ambaritsa Hut is situated at 1520 meters above sea level in the Central Balkan Mountains, northeast of Momina Mogila Peak. It is one of the most popular hubs for hikers exploring the high ridges, offering a gateway to the famous Ambaritsa Peak and the alpine route to Golyam Kupen. Facilities and Accommodation The hut complex consists of two buildings; the newer one is currently operational and welcomes guests year-round. - Capacity: 58 beds in rooms with 4, 8, and 12 beds. - Amenities: Indoor toilets, a wood-fired shower, a spacious dining area with a tourist kitchen, a library, and free Wi-Fi. - Sustainability: Electricity is generated via solar panels (not suitable for high-power devices), and heating is provided by traditional wood stoves in each room. - Pure Water: The hut is supplied with fresh spring water directly from the slopes of Golyam Kupen Peak. Access and Supplies The hut is accessible only by foot. There are no roads for vehicles. All food and supplies are carried up manually or by Borko the horse, ensuring a serene and authentic mountain atmosphere.
