Rising majestically above the alpine ridges of Northern Pirin, Sivria Peak, better known as Dzhangal, is the third highest peak in this part of the mountain range, reaching an altitude of 2739 meters above sea level. Located in the Blagoevgrad region, it offers one of the most impressive and challenging experiences for mountaineers. Its rocky ridge, formed by granite rocks, rises sharply, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The ascent to Dzhangal usually starts from Vihren Hut or from Razlozhki Suhodol. The route is difficult, with significant elevation gain and rocky sections in places, but the reward is incomparable. From the summit, a 360-degree panorama unfolds towards iconic Pirin peaks like Todorin Vrah, Muratov Vrah, as well as the formidable Orlov Tsirkus (Eagle's Circus) and the distant slopes of Rila. The area around Dzhangal is home to characteristic high-mountain flora and fauna, and in summer, the meadows bloom in picturesque colors. The most suitable time for climbing is during July and August, when weather conditions are more stable. However, it is essential to be well-equipped, have experience in mountain trekking, and monitor the weather forecast, as it can change abruptly. Conquering Dzhangal is an adventure that promises unforgettable memories and a true encounter with the wild beauty of Pirin.
