The Roman Thermae of Varna are among the best-preserved Roman ruins in Bulgaria and one of the largest ancient bath complexes in the European part of the Roman Empire. Built at the end of the 2nd century AD in the ancient city of Odessos, the complex covers around 7,000 m² with vaulted structures that once rose over 20 metres. The baths served as a major social hub until the late 3rd century, featuring a unique hypocaust heating system and halls once adorned with statues of Hercules, Victoria, and Mercury. Today the ruins are located in the Greek Quarter of Varna and host an open-air summer theatre.
