The Dobrudja and the Sea exhibition is a small maritime museum in Kavarna. It is housed in the restored old Turkish bath — the Hamam — at the head of the valley leading down to the harbour, about 500 m from the town centre.
On show are stone anchors, amphorae and pottery recovered by underwater archaeological expeditions. The "Treasury" hall holds a unique polymetallic scroll — a means of exchange from before coins — coins from different periods and a Thracian gold treasure. Colour maps complete the picture of ancient and medieval seafaring on the northern Black Sea.
The bath was built in the early 15th century — a massive domed stone building. Underwater expeditions off Kavarna have also explored the sunken parts of the Roman town of Bizone.
