The route leads from the village of Marchaevo on the western foothills of Vitosha to Selimitsa hut. It is marked in yellow, and the path is about 5.6 km.
Selimitsa hut has not operated since April 2025. Do not count on food, water or shelter there, and carry everything you need for the day.
The village is in the Vitosha district of Sofia municipality, 19 km south-west of Sofia, off the road to Pernik between Vladaya and Rudartsi. It lies at 800–1,000 m on the western slope of the nature park. Its church of St George was built in 1908–1914 by settlers from the Debar area, with an iconostasis by Debar masters.
Selimitsa stands in the Lenishtata area. It opened on 17 May 1930 and was renovated in 2003 and 2011.
The hut can also be reached from Zlatnite Mostove (about 1:45 h) and the village of Kladnitsa (about an hour).
The climb is steady, through forest, and suits children used to walking. From the hut the way to Cherni Vrah is long and exposed and needs a full day.
