The Hadzhiilieva House is a house from the second half of the 17th century in the Arbanasi architectural and museum reserve, also known as the "Tsar’s House". It is a site of the Veliko Tarnovo Regional History Museum.
The house holds the exhibition "Arbanasi Life in the 18th Century".
The ground floor is of stone, with large cellars for goods and food, a stable and hiding places for people and valuables. A grand entrance and a wide staircase lead to the second floor — two large guest rooms, for summer and winter, with a corridor of bedrooms and living rooms between them. At the end is the spacious kitchen with a large hearth and bread ovens.
The interior is decorated with woodcarving on the ceilings and windows and white-clay ornaments on the walls; the doors, cupboards and shutters are carved.
Arbanasi is an architectural and museum reserve and one of the 100 National Tourist Sites. The village’s five medieval churches, with remarkable murals, also belong to the Regional History Museum.
Check the opening hours with the Regional History Museum before you go.
