The Prosechen Kamik eco trail leads from the village of Lyutibrod to the Cherepish monastery in the Iskar gorge, Mezdra municipality. It is marked in red, it is about 3.3 km, and the signs on site give the walk about 2 hours.
Lyutibrod and Cherepish are stops on the Sofia – Mezdra railway through the gorge, so you can walk it from one station to the next.
At the top end of Lyutibrod, where the trail starts.
From the top of the village the path climbs gently to the viewpoint by the ruins of Shishmanovo kale, about an hour. It goes through a passage cut in the rock, which gives the name "cut stone" and once shortened the way between the monastery and the valley. From the viewpoints you see the Iskar and the Vratsa Balkan. The path then drops to the monastery and the road tunnel by the river.
Easy for most people, but in places it runs close to steep cliffs, so keep children close.
All year; spring and autumn are nicest. After rain the rocky sections are slippery.
By train from Cherepish, or the same way back. To explore the caves and rock towers around Shishmanovo kale, allow three to four hours.
