Borino – Yagodina
Borino – Yagodina is stage ST516 of the Sultans Trail, the international hiking route from Vienna to Istanbul. It is about 10.4 km long and links two villages in the Western Rhodopes by way of the Devil's Bridge rock formation.
The route
The stage starts in Borino at about 1,140 m and ends in Yagodina at about 1,100 m. Between the two villages the path drops to about 970 m and climbs again, so the total ascent is more than the start and end heights suggest. The Sultans Trail documentation rates the stage as demanding mountain walking.
What you will see
The Devil's Bridge near Borino is a natural rock bridge shaped by water. The old Kemerov bridge is also near the village. Yagodina is known for the Yagodinska cave, and above the village is the Eagle's Eye platform – a metal structure over the drop, from which you can see as far as Greece on a clear day.
Difficulty and preparation

Borino is the centre of the municipality of the same name, close to Devin and Dospat. The route is one-way and buses in the area are infrequent, so plan your return from Yagodina in advance.
