The Bansko Art School Icon Exhibition is a museum in Bansko. It is housed in the oldest surviving building in town, from 1749, which is a cultural monument.
The exhibition fills six rooms and shows original icons by masters of the Bansko school of icon painting. Among them are the school’s founder, Toma Vishanov, his son Dimitar and his grandson Simeon.
The building is preserved in its original form and is part of the visit in its own right.
The building was once a nuns’ metochion, a monastery’s town dependency — first of the Hilandar Monastery and later of the Rila Monastery.
