Machishte (1,047 m) is a peak in the south-western part of Vitosha, north of the village of Bosnek.
The peak rises above Bosnek, about 1.9 km west-north-west of the Duhlata cave. Here the uppermost course of the Struma separates Vitosha from the neighbouring Golo Bardo mountain.
The best-known sight nearby is Duhlata, also called the Bosnek cave: about 17.6 km long, it is the second-longest cave in Bulgaria, a maze of passages on six levels carved by the underground waters of the Struma. Its entrance is on the road from Bosnek to Chuypetlovo. The sources describe no waymarked route to the summit itself.

Late spring through early autumn (May–September) is best for Machishte, when trails are clear of snow and weather is most stable. Higher peaks may hold snow into June and see fresh snow as early as October. Winter visits are for experienced mountaineers with proper gear.
