Koina Chuka (the 5th highest peak in the range) is the perfect destination for a quick mountain getaway. Located between the villages of Elovitsa and Gorna Melna, this peak offers a gentle mix of lush mixed forests and wide, sunny meadows. Its proximity to a paved road makes it the most accessible peak in Elovishka Mountain, suitable even for winter hikes. Trek Highlights The hike starts near an old tin bus stop at the roadside clearing. Follow the wide forest track northeast through the pine woods. After a steady 15-minute walk, the path reaches a plateau. Look for a sharp right turn south that leads directly to a large meadow. The summit is marked by a small stone monument and a group of coniferous trees, providing a peaceful spot for a picnic.
