The Devil's Path is an eco-trail in the Western Rhodopes, in Borino municipality, about 60 km from Smolyan. It is built around the Chanak Dere river and has two loops: a large one of 10.2 km and a small one of 3.8 km. This page covers the small loop, marked in red.
The path crosses the river on wooden footbridges and stairs, past rock walls, waterfalls, cascades and erosion hollows. The highlights are the Devil's Bridge and the hidden Devil's Waterfall.
The small loop takes 3–4 hours. The first part is easy, but the second is steeper and takes more effort. People without mountain experience manage it, but it is not a walk for pushchairs or small children. The footbridges and rocks by the water are slippery after rain, so wear shoes with grip.
