The route leads from Velingrad to Kladova hut in the Western Rhodopes. It is marked in green, the path is about 6.2 km, and the climb takes about 2.5–3 hours. The path starts in the Kamenitsa quarter and passes the Pechenek area.
Kladova hut has been under repair or abandoned for years and offers neither beds nor food. Plan the route as a day walk there and back, and carry food and water.
The hut stands on the Alabak ridge, on the Kladova meadow at the foot of Chernovets peak. Chernovets is about 40 minutes from it. You can also drive: about 10 km of asphalt road to the Nachovo area and another 4 km of dirt road.
The path climbs through pine forest above Velingrad. The climb is steady but has no technical sections. It suits children used to walking a few hours.
From Kladova, marked paths lead to Yundola hut (about 3.5 hours) and Milevi Skali hut (about 4.5 hours).
Velingrad is a well-known spa town with many mineral springs, so the walk to Kladova combines easily with a stay there.
