The Literary Stara Zagora Museum is a municipal museum devoted to the writers and poets connected with Stara Zagora. It was founded on 16 February 1961. It stands at 44 Ruski Boulevard, next to the Zahariy Knyazheski Regional Library.
The museum keeps thousands of documents, manuscripts, personal belongings, rare editions and works of art linked to the lives and work of writers from the town — in Bulgaria and abroad. Among them are Ivan Vazov, Kiril Hristov, Peyo Yavorov, Nikolay Liliev, Geo Milev, Dimitar Chorbadzhiyski – Chudomir, Veselin Hanchev and Pavel Matev.
The collection also holds works by artists such as Elisaveta Konsulova-Vazova, Aleksandar Bozhinov, Rayko Aleksiev, Boris Denev and Aleksandar Poplilov.
Before that, the museum was housed in the Hanchev House. On 25 October 2019 it moved into a building of its own with an exhibition.
