Babskoto Praskalo is a 54 m waterfall on the Babska river in Central Balkan National Park, above the village of Tazha. The path to the viewing platform is waymarked in yellow and is about 3.3 km long.
From Tazha a waymarked path leads to Rusalka hut (1,130 m) in about 1.5–2 hours; a 10 km cart track also runs to the hut. About 700 m past the hut a waymarked path branches off to the right — blue at first, then yellow — and leads north to a viewing platform a few hundred metres from the waterfall. The waterfall can also be reached from above, from Triglav hut, in about 30 minutes.
The waterfall is on the Babska river, a tributary of the Tazha. The river rises south of the saddle between Malak and Golyam Kademliya peaks. Babskoto Praskalo is one of the lower waterfalls in the area, but one of its main attractions.
The eco-trail facilities by the waterfall are run-down. On a visit in 2019 most of the wooden steps and railings had collapsed, and parts of the path were closed with signs. Take care at the platform and do not go past the no-entry signs.
Tazha is in Pavel Banya municipality, east of Kalofer, and has a station on the Karlovo – Tulovo railway. Triglav hut is reached by a dirt road over the Rusaliya pass — about 20 km from Tazha, for high-clearance vehicles only.
