This red-waymarked route links Martsiganitsa hut, 4 km above the village of Dobrostan, with Bezovo hut to the north, crossing Chervenata Stena peak on the way. Hut guides give about 3 hours one way. Much of it runs through the Chervenata Stena reserve, so stay on the marked path.
Bezovo hut (1,217 m) was reported out of operation in 2017, with no caretaker and most rooms in need of repair, so do not count on food or a bed at the far end. Martsiganitsa, at 1,412 m, is open, with about 100 beds and a restaurant.
Bezovo peak (1,386 m) is about an hour above the hut, and the memorial at Gonda Voda, a former camp, is about 15 minutes away. Paths continue down to the village of Bachkovo (about 2½ hours) and to Asenovgrad (about 3½ hours), so the route works as a full-day traverse from Dobrostan down to the Asenovgrad side, finishing in Bachkovo or Asenovgrad with transport arranged in advance.
Carry water for the whole walk and a map or GPS track; the red marks are the ones to follow from Martsiganitsa.
