The Bunovo – hut Chavdar route climbs north from the village of Bunovo, Mirkovo municipality, into the Balkan range. It is waymarked in blue and about 4.3 km long. Bunovo lies in the Zlatitsa–Pirdop valley, below the southern slopes of the Balkan.
Hut Chavdar (formerly Planinets and Baba) stands in the Varhushki polyani area, west of Baba peak (1,787 m), in the Etropole mountain. It is a two-storey building with 30 places and a stop on the European E3 route, Kom – Emine.
Bunovo has a railway station on the Sofia – Burgas line. A dirt road also runs from the village to the hut and on towards Baba peak and Etropole. We found no walking time for the route in the sources.
