Markov kamak

"Markov Kamak" (Marko's Stone) – a majestic natural phenomenon and an ancient legend, perched picturesquely above the city of Blagoevgrad, nestled in the foothills of Vlahina Mountain. This gigantic rock formation attracts visitors not only with its impressive size but also with the mystical history linked to the legendary hero Krali Marko (King Marko). According to folklore, it was Krali Marko himself who hurled the stone from a distant mountain, perhaps while fighting enemies, or left his colossal footprint upon it while defending his people. The site is imbued with the spirit of the past and folk beliefs.
