Kelevia Rid (Kelevia Ridge) is one of the lesser-known, yet exceptionally picturesque ridges in the northern part of Pirin Mountain, located in Bansko Municipality, Blagoevgrad Region. Although its peaks do not reach the impressive height of Pirin's giants, it offers breathtaking panoramic views and is an ideal destination for lovers of tranquility, wild nature, and an authentic mountain experience. The ridge stretches between the valleys of the Byala Reka (White River) and Demyanitsa rivers, rising gently above the town of Bansko and the villages of the Razlog Valley. Characteristic of Kelevia Rid are its soft, rounded forms and vast alpine pastures, which in spring and summer are covered with a colorful carpet of mountain flowers and and herbs. From its highest points, such as Kelevia Peak, impressive perspectives open up to the majestic granite peaks of Northern Pirin – Todorka, Vihren, Kutelo, as well as the wide Razlog Valley. Here you can enjoy deep silence, broken only by the sound of bells from grazing animals or the gentle whisper of the wind through the grasses. Access to Kelevia Rid is relatively easy from Bansko or Dobrinishte, with various marked and unmarked hiking trails suitable for day trips of varying difficulty. Some paths lead to interesting areas, ancient forests, and crystal-clear water sources, while others connect to longer routes to other parts of Pirin. The ridge is excellent for light trekking, picnics, and photography, offering unique angles to the higher parts of the mountain, away from the noise and crowds of more popular tourist sites. Visiting in autumn is particularly beautiful when the slopes are painted in golden, orange, and reddish hues, creating unforgettable landscapes. Kelevia Rid is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered by every traveler seeking true unity with nature.
